Uniting Policy and Technology for Electric Grid Transformation

The inaugural IEEE Power and Energy Society (PES) Energy and Policy Forum will be held in Washington, D.C, on 14–17 April 2025, providing a platform for discussion, analysis, and collaboration on issues related to the power grid and energy policy, regulations, sustainability, resilience, and innovation. The Forum brings together government experts, policymakers, utility companies, industry leaders, researchers, and other stakeholders to explore challenges and opportunities in the power and energy sector and develop coordinated strategies for achieving a sustainable and resilient energy future. The Forum will serve as a hub for fostering dialogue, sharing knowledge, and catalyzing action towards a more sustainable and equitable energy future.
Forum Tracks

The forum involves three major tracks:

  1. Evolving Power Generation Portfolio
  2. Transformation of Electricity Delivery System (T&D)
  3. Distributed Energy Resources, Energy Storage, Electrification and Load Growth
Forum Structure
  • Tutorials
Focus on sharing knowledge with the community on the basics of policymaking and regulation in the power industry.
  • Super Sessions and Panel Discussions
Sessions focus discussion on the intersection of energy and policy, including challenges and opportunities for innovative technology development and deployment, and showcase how industry and policymakers can come together to ensure a safe, reliable, affordable, and resilient grid, for today and tomorrow.
  • Innovation Showcase
Showcasing innovative technology and projects, developed by industry (manufacturing, service providers, national labs, academia, etc.), and as successfully applied in utility installations.
