Sherry Stout

Program Manager, State, Local, and Tribal activities

Sherry Stout is the laboratory program manager for NLR’s State, Local, and Tribal activities, a program that supports numerous jurisdictions and community-based collaborations in energy decision making, economic development, strategic planning, workforce analysis, and energy deployment research. Stout has built and/or led multiple technical assistance programs and projects at NLR to serve a diverse group of stakeholders, ranging from American Indian Tribes and Alaska Native Villages to international governments and federal agencies. Prior to her role as lab program manager, Sherry led NLR’s Arctic engagement – including the development and incorporation of the Alaska Campus and the Center for Applied Research for Communities in Extreme environments – and led multiple international engagements in support of USAID’s energy programs supporting resilience, peace, and nation building.

Sherry is finishing a PhD from Antioch University’s Graduate School of Leadership and Change with a focus on the Rural/Urban divide in energy decision making. She holds a MS in Environmental and Sustainability Engineering from the University of Colorado Denver and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from New Mexico State University. She is keenly interested in finding ways to better enable partner governments and stakeholders to achieve their energy and economic goals through delivery of technical expertise.
