He received the B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering from the “Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana” (Medellín-Colombia, 1987), and the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Power Engineering from the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology –UMIST- (Manchester–England, 1997). 

His greatest experience is in the areas of planning and expansion of the transmission network, and in the feasibility and development of the regional electrical integration. He has been linked to Interconexión Eléctrica S.A. (ISA) since 1988. He currently serves as Director of Planning and Evaluation of the Power Transmission Business.
