Craig Piercy is the CEO and Executive Director of the American Nuclear Society (ANS), leading a community of over 10,000 nuclear professionals to advance the development of nuclear sciences and technologies for peaceful uses. Since joining ANS as its first CEO in 2019, he has restructured the organization, launched a 24/7 NuclearNews site, established offices in Washington D.C. and Illinois, and created a Rapid Response Task Force to respond to media requests. These initiatives have bolstered ANS’s ability to coalesce a community of nuclear experts, impact federal and state policy, and expand access to nuclear science education. In 2024, Craig was named one of “Washington DC’s 500 Most Influential People” by Washingtonian Magazine. Before joining ANS, he led the Washington Office of Bose Public Affairs Group and worked on Capitol Hill for 8 years. Craig holds a degree in Government and Politics from the University of Maryland. He lives in Bethesda, Maryland.
