Greg Bennett is the Chief Engineer for Transmission Line Standards at Southern Company. He has more than 37 years’ experience in Transmission Lines and Substation Engineering.

Greg holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Clemson University and is a Registered Professional Engineer in Georgia.

He is active in IEEE-PES where he serves on numerous Standards Committees regarding Transmission Engineering,  Materials and work methods. He is also active with ANSI, CIGRE, ASCE and NATF as well as at EPRI where he is the current Chair of the Overhead Transmission Advisory and the Increased Transmission Capacity Task Force in Program 35.
