Jarrod West has 20 years of government service, with over 15 of those years focused on federal and state energy policy. He specializes in federal programs related to grid resilience, distributed energy integration, and post‐disaster grid restoration and recovery. In addition, he has conducted extensive work related to offshore wind energy development, leasing of federal lands for renewable energy production, critical infrastructure policy, and supply chain challenges. Prior to joining GAO’s Natural Resources and Environment Team, Jarrod was a U.S. Army Officer specializing in medical planning and logistics. He holds an M.S. in Public Policy and Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a B.A. in Spanish and Latin American Studies from John Carroll University. Outside of the federal policy space, Jarrod is a Spanish translator and he sings with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Voces Solis, and a number of other ensembles.
