Kristina LaCommare is a Program Manager in the Energy Technologies Area at the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL). Kristina graduated from U.C. Davis with a B.S. and M.S. in Atmospheric Science. She has been with LBNL for more than 25 years. During that time she’s worked on a wide range of research projects focusing on both the distribution and transmission system. This includes working on the DOE National Electric Transmission Congestion Study and more recently has been supporting the LBNL research team to assess the economics of advanced conductors and reconductoring as part of the Reconductoring Economic & Financial Analysis (REFA) Tool. She is also a multidisciplinary researcher with over 20 years of experience in reliability and resilience metric reporting, trend, and valuation research and serves as the project manager for the Interruption Cost Estimate (ICE) Calculator 2.0 initiative, a national initiative to update and upgrade the publicly available ICE Calculator online tool. She is also a key member of the National Coordinator team at LBNL that supports the DOE Connected Communities program.
