Mingguo Hong received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Washington in 1998. He is current a principal analyst at the ISO New England in Holyoke Massachusetts. Before he joined the ISO New England, he worked as a power systems engineer at GE Grid Solutions in Redmond, Washington and a principal market engineer at the Mid-continent Independent System Operator (MISO) in Carmel, Indiana. He also worked as an Associate Professor in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science department of the Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. His current research interests are in power system resilience, the electricity markets and distributed energy resources.
