Schuyler Matteson currently serves as Clean Energy Planning Lead at the New York State Department of Public Service, where he is tasked with leading grid planning efforts under the Coordinated Grid Planning Process and Proactive Planning for Electrification Process, and supporting the Grid of the Future and Zero by ’40 Proceedings. Prior to his role at DPS, Schuyler led New York’s Energy Storage Program at NYSERDA and completed numerous statewide planning studies focusing on long-term decarbonization. Schuyler holds a PhD in Sustainable Energy Systems from RIT, a Graduate Certificate in Applied Neuroscience from King’s College London, and a BA with Honors in Mathematics and Philosophy and a BS in Applied Physics from Carson-Newman College.
