Valerie Teeter is the Deputy Director of the Office of Energy Market Regulation at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC). In this role, she oversees matters related to energy markets, tariffs, and pipeline rates for electric utilities, natural gas, and oil pipeline facilities and services. Most recently, Teeter served as Senior Manager for Federal Regulatory Affairs at Exelon Corporation. In this role, she developed policy positions and strategies on key electricity issues, including transmission planning and electric infrastructure resilience, at both FERC and the Department of Energy. She was Exelon’s technical expert on regional and interregional transmission planning, electric transmission ratemaking, and organized market operations for energy, ancillary services, and capacity markets. Additionally, she coordinated cross-departmental engagement on transmission and distributed energy resource policies in regulatory and stakeholder processes. Valerie began her energy industry career in 2008 as an energy industry analyst in the Office of Energy Market Regulation. She later joined the newly established Office of Energy Policy and Innovation, where she spent the next decade shaping energy policy and regulatory initiatives.
